Closed Curtains

Met de lijdensweg van de gecensureerde Iraanse Jafar Panahi in het achterhoofd - Pahani mag 20 jaar lang geen films meer maken omdat hij zogenaamd samenzweert tegen de Islamitische Republiek - onderzoekt acteur Thomas Janssens 'wat het doet met een mens wanneer zijn stem in de kiem wordt gesmoord', zijn droom kapotgemaakt wordt, zijn betekenis doorstreept. 

Daarvoor omringt hij zich met twee heren die maar at te bekend zijn met het thema van censuur en de immobiliteit en isolatie die er het gevolg van zijn: film- en theatermaker Sabri Saad el Hamus die het woelige Egypte inruilde voor Nederland, en regisseur Mokhallad Rasam (o.a. Toneelhuis), die door de oorlog in Irak in België woont en werkt.
